xerofire® Fire Retardant Coatings

A unique range of leading technology, professional wood finishing products formulated to upgrade (or maintain) the fire-rating of a wide variety of wood-based substrates including veneered panels, solid hard and softwoods, plywood, MDF and wood-composite boards. The xerofire® Fire Retardant Coatings system comprises of a 2K Waterborne Intumescent Basecoat together in combination with a 2K Acid Catalyst Clear Topcoat providing a high quality and excellent aesthetic furniture grade finish. 

xerofire® has been used in a few well-known place: Starbucks, Manchester City FC, Tottenham Hotspur FC, Birmingham Library, Heathrow T4 & T5, The National Theatre, Frankie & Benny’s, Waterloo Underground Station, Facebook Offices and The Royal Barge. 

xerofire® is the first high-performance furniture grade lacquer system that will upgrade a non-fire-rated timber substrate to BS476 Part 6 & 7 Class 0 and Class 1, and also achieve top rating (Euro Class B-s1,d0) in the European Fire Standard EN13501-1 on all wood substrates including veneered plywood. In addition, xerofire is extremely durable (FIRA Standard 6250 - Severe Use). 

xerofire® complies with the requirements for Class 0 defined in Appendix A paragraph 13 of Approved Document B “Fire Safety” to the Building Regulations and has achieved the Euro reaction to fire classification of Euro Class B-s1,d0 xerofire official Exova FR Certification/Accreditation Reports:

Beware of Fire-Retardant (do not use coatings which are not officially certified, or if FR certificates are not available. Construction contracts which specify Building Regulation Fire Safety Standards must employ accredited and certified coatings).
